To provide this service, John Flynn Private Hospital sourced the very latest in Ophthalmology equipment for their dedicated day surgery operating theatre, within the main hospital building.

John Flynn Private Hospital also provides an on-site Ophthalmology practice, See View Eye Specialist Clinic, specialising in refractive cataract surgery, macula degeneration treatments, diabetic eye disease and comprehensive Ophthalmology. Based exclusively at John Flynn Private Hospital, ward referrals and patients from the Emergency Department with acute eye problems can be easily accommodated at the on-site practice during clinic hours. Out-of-hours and weekend emergency ophthalmic telephone advice is also provided.

Patients with other medical conditions who are unsuitable candidates for stand-alone day surgery procedures can be admitted to John Flynn Private Hospital on the evening prior to their eye surgery. They can be cared for by their physician whilst in hospital, have their eye surgery and attend their first day post-op check-up in the eye clinic prior to being discharged home. This totally hospital-based Ophthalmology arrangement thus provides easy accessibility for both in-patients and emergency patients as well as for out-patients.
