Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding your new bundle of joy is a great way to ensure you’re giving your child all the nutrients and antibodies they need to start life in the best possible way, but it can sometimes be tricky to start with.

At John Flynn Maternity, our entire midwifery team are highly skilled in assisting mums to get the most out of breastfeeding and answering any and every question you may have. Additionally, we have a fantastic team of Lactation Consultants who can give you advice, show you tips and tricks and help ensure you and your baby are settling well into breastfeeding.

John Flynn is an accredited BFHI hospital, and follow their framework that helps to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. The Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) is a joint World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF project that aims to create a healthcare environment where breastfeeding is the norm, and practices known to promote the well-being of all mothers and infants are promoted.
