In 1986, Dr Hertess graduated from Melbourne University Medical School after first completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the same university.
After 8 years of surgical training in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane Dr Hertess obtained her specialist qualification as a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in the division of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Hertess has been a resident of Cairns since 1994 and helped to establish Cairns Plastic Surgery. She has now relocated to the Gold Coast to be closer to family.
Her current office location is at John Flynn Hospital in Tugun. She continues to have a presence in Cairns.
Ever since, Dr Hertess has been practicing and has earned herself additional memberships to the following societies:
- Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons
- Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- International Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Hertess has a keen interest in skin cancer medicine. She obtained her Australian Dermatology Diploma in 2014 and is due to finish her Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) in early 2023.
Whilst Dr. Hertess tends to focus on her interests in Breast Surgery Augmentations, Breast Implant Revision, Breast Reduction, and abdominoplasty, she is also very passionate about skin cancer medicine and surgery.
For over 20 years, Dr Isolde Hertess has applied a conservative approach to her plastic surgery work and is deeply passionate about helping improve the self-esteem of women of all ages, from all walks of life.
She values establishing open and honest lines of communication with her patients along with an individualised surgical plan for each patient based on their requirement or request.
In her personal life she has 3 adult children and continues an active interest in cycling.
