Dr Mikhail Sarofim is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who believes in women centred care and limited intervention. His
obstetric practice is deeply rooted in building trust and creating a tailored approach that respects each woman’s unique journey. He has experience in complex pregnancies, VBAC, and pregnancy after previous birth trauma. Dr Sarofim has experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery.
He undertook his studies at the University of New South Wales completing a Bachelor of Medical Studies and Medical Degree. He subsequently undertook his junior training at St George Hospital in Sydney, whilst concurrently completing a Masters of Surgical Sciences at the University of Sydney. Dr Sarofim completed his Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) training in Sydney where he gained experience in complex obstetrics at multiple busy units.
Subsequently, he went on to undertake an accredited advanced fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic complex gynaecological surgery
through AGEs training at Sydney Womens Endosurgery Centre; one of the most sought-after fellowships in Australia. This training means that Dr Sarofim is highly adept in managing complex gynaecological conditions including pelvic pain, severe endometriosis, fibroids, hysterectomy, and operative hysteroscopy.
Dr Sarofim is also committed to research and education and has published and presented at multiple national and international conferences and journals. He is also involved in Australia’s premier uterine transplant program at the Royal Hospital for Women as well as being on the board of the AGEs R-SIG. Moreover, Dr Sarofim holds a position at the University of New South Wales as a lecturer and is heavily involved with curriculum redesign – shaping what future doctors and healthcare workers learn about Women’s Health.
His practice and experience are enriched by his family, including his wife and two daughters, whom he had the privilege of delivering. Relocating from Sydney, Dr. Sarofim has chosen to establish his practice on the Gold Coast, embracing the opportunity to be nearer to his family and to serve the local community. He is excited to provide a high standard of care that is both accessible and dependable to the Gold Coast and Northern NSW community, ensuring a trustworthy healthcare experience for every patient.
