Dr Herman Lee completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 1999 and completed his internship in 2000 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He Subsequently worked in the Flinders Medical Centre and completed his Basic Physician Training in 2004.
In 2005, Herman started his Joint Clinical and Pathology training in Haematology and the Royal Adelaide Hospital and SA Pathology. During this time, he was invloved in both clinical and laboratory activites including haemostasis and thrombosis, autologous and allogenic bone marrow transplantation, acute and chronic leukaemia, lymphoma and mutiple myeloma, thalassaemia and blood transfusion.
After completing his advance haematology training, Dr Lee worked in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a fellow for two years specialising in haemostasis and thrombosis. He offered both inpatient and outpatient care of complex cases of arterial and venous thrombosis as well as bleeding disorders. He was also invloved in the clinical trails of thromboprophylaxis, new classes of anticoagulants and advanced coagulation testing.
Apart from clincal works, Herman also plays an active role in both teaching and research. He was a lecturer and examiner at the University of Adelaide. He was also invlved in many haematology research projects espcially in the field of of thrombosis and haemostasis.
Dr Lee settled on the Gold Coast in 2011, where he practices at the Gold Coast Private Hospital, Pindara Place, Pindara Private Hospital, John Flynn Private Hospital and the Tweed Public Hospital's Cancer Care and Haematology Unit, working in partnership with Dr Hanlon Sia.
Dr Lee is actively invloved in variuos research projects with teh Tweed Cancer Care and Haematology Unit, including for modern therapy in leukaemia, myeloma and lymphoma treatment trials.
