Dr Geoff Trueman began his speciality training 25 years ago and has over 17 years of experience in private practice on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers. He provides advanced Obstetric and Gynaecological specialist services to public and private patients. Geoff is on the private roster for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at John Flynn Private Hospital and the public roster at The Tweed Hospital. He has regular operating lists at both hospitals. Additionally, Geoff attends Byron Bay once per month in order to provide convenient specialist services for patients residing in the Northern Rivers region. Geoff has a proven track record of successful outcomes for his patients due to his vast experience, excellent communication skills and holistic approach to patient centred care.

As a father of four children, Geoff understands both the challenges and rewards of parenthood and is devoted to providing personalised obstetric care. Geoff is extensively experienced in high risk pregnancies, multiple births and vaginal births post Caesareans and he did run the high risk antenatal clinic at The Tweed Hospital for 5 years. Geoff identifies and acknowledges aspects of care that are meaningful to his patients in order to provide a personalised  pregnancy plan. Geoff collaborates with his patients to formulate a birth plan that ensures the health of expectant mothers and safe arrival of your treasured baby.

For those patients experiencing difficulties falling pregnant, Geoff offers infertility investigation and advice as well as  full IVF services. Geoff sympathises with how frustrating it can be when the journey to falling pregnant is taking longer than expected. He works in collaboration with with City Fertility, situated in Robina.

Geoff is extremely passionate about implementing a patient centred approach in his service provision. He recognises the significant impact that Gynaecological issues have on his patient’s health, wellbeing and ability to participate in valued activities. Dr Trueman assists his patients to achieve the best possible Gynaecological outcome for Endometriosis, urinary incontinence, prolapse, abnormal Pap smears, and abnormal bleeding.

Geoff graduated from Manchester University, UK in 1987 with MB ChB, and completed his intern year in the UK before relocating to Australia. He completed his residency at Gold Coast Hospital between 1988 and 1991.Geoff joined the Queensland Obstetics and Gynaecology training scheme and began working at the Mater and QE II Hospitals in Brisbane. He continued his training  in London, including infertility service training. Geoff’s final years of training were completed in a satellite IVF unit in Jersey in order to advance his ultrasound training.

Dr Geoff Trueman was awarded Australian College Fellowship in 1999 and returned to Australia to establish a busy practice in Lismore, NSW. He was the Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 4 years and the Chairman of Surgical Services at St Vincent’s Hospital.

Dr Trueman has established a busy Obstetric & Gynaecological  practice in the John Flynn Medical Centre with the help of his dedicated staff. Geoff has fulfilled the role of Chairman at the John Flynn Hospital of O&G for 2 years. He is also an active member of the Medical Advisory Committee at the John Flynn Hospital.

Dr Trueman is honoured to be an Associate Medical Professor at Bond University and actively involved with teaching Griffith University medical students. Geoff is dedicated to teaching medical students in order to further their practical skills and theoretical knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is committed to setting aside time in order provide them with a holistic educational experience.

Outside of work, Geoff enjoys spending time with his wife and four children walking their two dogs (a Border collie and a Smithfield terrier) along the beautiful Gold Coast beaches, bushwalking, watching Manchester City football matches, boating and fishing. As a Currumbin local, Geoff enjoys eating out at all the new restaurants popping up in the area with his friends and family. Geoff spends his holidays camping, skiing or relaxing with family and friends.
