Trained in Canada, Dr Ashok Gangasandra is a Cardiologist at East Coast Cardiology with interventional cardiology experience who provides both inpatient and outpatient services.
In 2001, Dr Gangasandra completed his physician training in India then moved to the UK in 2004. He gained valuable experience in Cardiff, Wales and in Scotland in the specialty of medicine, then relocated to Australia in 2006. In 2008, he completed internal medicine training at Westmead Hospital (Sydney) then pursued advanced training in Cardiology at the Townsville Hospital and Gold Coast Hospital which he completed in 2011.
Dr Gangasandra completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and CT coronary angiography at the esteemed McMaster University, Canada. Here he had excellent clinical training in complex coronary imaging and interventions and in research methodology, and was actively involved in clinical research.
He is an experienced Cardiologist with an extensive general medicine background. His main area of experience is in the management (both invasive and non-invasive strategies) of acute coronary syndromes (heart attacks). He performs coronary angiograms, angioplasties with and without stenting; complex coronary interventions; intra-coronary imaging like IVUS and OCT and functional study like FFR. His other areas of interest include CT coronary angiography, echocardiogram, cardiac monitoring and stress testing.
