Dr Kang-Teng Lim joined the Gold Coast Heart Centre in June 2008 as a consultant cardiologist with clinical experience in electrophysiology.
Dr Lim graduated from Melbourne University in 1997. He continued in Melbourne, completing his basic and advanced cardiology training, and was admitted as a fellow of the RACP in 2004. Dr Lim completed his fellowship training in electrophysiology and pacing at the Royal Perth Hospital in 2006. He undertook further training in Bordeaux, France, under the supervision of prominent electrophysiologist Professor Michel Haïssaguerre, who pioneered catheter ablation therapy and atrial fibrillation ablation. Dr Lim has been involved in numerous peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters during his time in Bordeaux.
Dr Lim’s main interests consist of catheter ablation therapy for atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias as well as the implantation of cardiac electronic devices (pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders). He has extensive experience in general cardiology and also performs coronary angiography, transoesophageal echocardiograms and other non-invasive cardiac investigations.
He is a member of the Gold Coast Heart Centre cardiac education team and is actively involved with the provision of education to medical students from both Bond University and Griffith University.
Dr Lim has admitting rights to John Flynn Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital & Gold Coast Private Hospital. He has consults from the Gold Coast Heart Centre rooms in the John Flynn Medical Centre and the Pindara Specialist Suites.
