Dr Cheng He is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon who grew up in Melbourne and is an alumnus of The University of Melbourne Medical School.
Dr He completed cardiothoracic surgical training at the Prince Charles Hospital and the Alfred Hospital. After being awarded Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery (FRACS) from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he further completed a Cardiothoracic Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Dr He’s surgical practice involves all aspects of cardiac and thoracic surgery, with a particular interest in AF surgery and minimally-invasive lung surgery.
Dr He has contributed his knowledge and experience to a number of research publications and authored book chapters. A keen educator, as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Griffith University and a surgical supervisor for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr He is also passionate about encouraging patients to learn about their condition and be empowered in selecting the most appropriate therapy for them.
Dr Cheng He holds public and private appointments at the Gold Coast University Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital.
