The John Flynn Respiratory Lab has achieved an outstanding reputation due to the high standard of medical care by our Respiratory Physicians. We pride ourselves on exceptional patient care and encourage feedback to ensure all needs are met during your time at our Lab.

Our staff are friendly and experienced in working with individuals who have respiratory conditions. Both our reception and laboratory staff will be happy to assist you in making your visit as pleasant as possible.

When a referral is made

Your general practitioner or specialist may refer you to Dr Rob Nickels or to the John Flynn Respiratory Lab if you have a respiratory condition including; Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis, Emphysema, Asbestos Related Lung Conditions, Bronchiectasis, Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Sarcoidosis or Lung Cancer.

Alternatively, your general practitioner or specialist may refer you for a specialist medical consultation or a lung function test, or both, if you have any of the following symptoms; breathlessness (dyspnoea) of unknown cause, difficulty clearing your lungs of sputum, chronic coughing or wheezing, coughing up blood (haemoptysis), chest infection or chest pain not cardiac in nature.

If you have any concerns about the health of your lungs, please discuss them with your referring doctor.
